HEDDA LETTUCE HOSTS “NEW YORK’S NEXT TOP DRAG QUEEN CONTEST" AT THE METROPOLITAN ROOM BEGINNING APRIL 1 JUDGES WILL CROWN BEST SINGER-ENTERTAINER The sparkles will be flying this spring as the Metropolitan Room hosts its first “New York’s Next Top Drag Queen Contest." The six-week affair, running five Mondays from April 1 to May 6 (no show on April 8), will pit eight pre-selected drag queen artists who will be judged not by looks alone but by how well they sing and entertain. Hosted by the incomparable Hedda Lettuce, the highly competitive competition will feature a parade of treats for the eyes, special guests, surprise guest judges and a mystery judge whose identity will hopefully be revealed at the contest’s over-the-top finale. The contest’s first Top Drag Queen, who will be showered with gifts and fawned over for years to come, will be held under a highly binding contract by the Metropolitan Room, during which time she will be forced to headline monthly shows from June to December produced by the club. Competing bust to bust will be these promising entertainers, all of whom have been rigorously pre-screened:$15 cover 2 drink minimum
