It incorporates well known and original chants, sacred readings from spiritual traditions across the world, and meditations that celebrate the common ways people honor the Divine. Originated in 1940 by Brother Roger, Taize is named after an international ecumenical community in Taize, Sane-et-Loire, Burgundy, France.
