Rev. Yolanda's 60th Birthday Extravaganza

celebrating the Rev. Yolanda Songbook.

Rev.Yolanda has been a singer/songwriter for over 25years.

This show features original Rev. Yolanda music that spans those years.
The show with full band and featuring Rev. Yolanda and some of NYC's best Broadway, Pop, Rock, and Cabaret performers singing her songs.

On Broadway: “Christine Daae” in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, and CHESS, as a benefit for the Actor’s Fund. First National Tours:  “Jellylorum/Griddlebone” and “Jennyanydots” in CATS, and as “Lizzie Phagan” in PARADE, where she worked with the original creative team of director Harold Prince, choreographer Patricia Birch, author Alfred Uhry, and composer Jason Robert Brown.

In NYC, Raissa has headlined at: Feinstein’s, Metropolitan Room, Iridium and The Laurie Beechman Theatre. She has guest starred at: The Supper Club, Rainbow Room, 88’s, Don’t Tell Mama, Chita’s, The Algonquin, and Radio City Music Hall. She has soloed with many symphony orchestras and was guest soloist at the estate of the legendary Cal Ripken, Jr. She was featured at the Lincoln Center Barnes and Noble in their Any Wednesday series, performing selections from her CD, What I Was Dreaming Of.  Her newest CD, Another Kind of Light, was released through LML Music, August, 2012, and can be purchased there or on Amazon and iTunes.

Singer songwriter, producer and creator of Bearapalooza and Bear Your Soul, Freddy is all about love, over coming struggles, forgiveness, empowerment, spirit, and community. It's a message that he shares with the world. Music has the power to touch hearts and help people love themselves more. A native of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, Jess Jurkovic started his musical life as a drummer and percussionist, but at age fourteen, began to compose and teach himself jazz piano.

Today he is an exciting and eclectic voice as a pianist and composer. He has written over 100 pieces and arranged dozens of standards and not-so-standards for his groups. In addition, he has arranged and composed music for jazz big band, jazz vocal ensemble, string orchestra, and even classical chamber ensembles—as well as worked in and composed for pop, rock, and funk genres.

Rev. Shawn Moninger:

Rev. Shawn Moninger, Minister – Rev. Shawn is an ordained Unity Minister. He has been the Senior Minister at Unity Center of Norwalk since September 2004. Rev. Shawn is the founding President of The Unity Church of New York in New York City. He began his spiritual journey in earnest in 1997 after a successful career as a lighting and sound designer in New York nightclubs. He has won four MAC Awards (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) and a Backstage Bistro Award all for outstanding Technical Direction

Jim Keyes:

An accomplished musician, performer, songwriter and composer. He’s as likely to be heard playing original songs on an electric guitar in the rock band Hot Rod Pacer as he is singing 18th century ballads in Colonial garb. Jim’s recently played banjo in a drag show and in the Americana ensemble, The Tappan Cowboys

Candy Samples, Queen of The Bears:

This chanteuse from the south has released two EP’s, Sample This! and Sample That!  Whether a swinging dance club beat with “Boy Crazy” and “If I Had Only Left (Two Shots Earlier)” or a little down-home country, “Green Bean Casserole”, Candy’s got the recipe to satisfy!  Candy’s singles, “Queens of the Bears” and “Bear Season” have entertained many a Bear Run, having provided her with performances with Bearapalooza and events such as Bear Your Soul (Easton Mountain/Greenwich, NY), Midwest Bearfest (Indianapolis, Indiana) and Southern Decadence (New Orleans, LA).

A believer in using your ‘Powers For Good’, Candy is a huge supporter of AIDS Walk New York, Housing Works (NYC) and New Orleans AIDS Task Force/Food for Friends.  She always encourages her audiences to do the same, and reach out within their own communities.
